About Me

I am a Psychologist and Psychotherapist who provides brief solution-focused therapy & counselling. I currently work in private practice in Merseyside, Lancashire, and Gwynedd Wales, providing assessment, interventions, counselling and psychotherapy in the third and private sectors.

Through using the Human Givens approach, I am trained in using a number of therapeutic modalities to suit each individual's therapeutic needs. The modalities I use include Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Mindfulness, and Person Centered Therapy. The premise of my work involves building a therapeutic relationship in a safe and comfortable environment where clients can feel secure when opening up about their difficulties, helping them realise they are not alone. We will explore any underlying concerns and emotional needs not currently being met, and focus on developing new or existing skills and coping strategies to create effective change and an improved sense of well being.

I offer therapy for a range of psychological and personal difficulties including depression, anxiety, stress, panic attacks, relationship problems, post-traumatic stress disorder, the effects of trauma and abuse, phobias, low self-esteem and confidence issues, anger-related issues, bereavement, substance misuse and addiction. I also provide support for individuals wishing to focus on personal development.

How to get started?

Commencing therapy and finding the right therapist can be daunting. Please feel free to telephone me so that we can have a brief, no obligation, conversation about what you would like to get out of therapy and ask any questions about the therapy process. We can then decide whether we can work together or book an outcome focussed session before you commit to therapy.
